two days ago, I wrote about Florida’s despicable decision to teach its children about the “positive aspects” of slavery.

there was nothing funny to say about this moral travesty, but I did allow myself one slight ha-ha at the end. I wrote: in Germany, schoolchildren are taught about the Holocaust. it’s mandatory. and they don’t sugar-coat it with stupid fairy tales. they don’t try to pretend that Jews learned useful skills like how to hide in an attic.

it’s a ludicrous notion, but guess fucking what: yesterday, on the Fox News program The Five, Greg Gutfeld went there, saying that Jews survived extermination camps by being “useful.” Greg, sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up. nobody survived an extermination camp by being useful. do you know who started this bullshit lie? the Nazis.

this is the front gate of the Auschwitz extermination camp. the sign above the gate reads “Arbeit Macht Frei.” that’s German for “work will make you free.”

it’s a lie. not one person imprisoned at Auschwitz — or any Nazi extermination camp — worked their way to freedom.

Unfortunately, it has to be said – slavery wasn't a jobs program that taught beneficial skills. It was literally dehumanizing and subjugated people as property because they lacked any rights or freedoms.

Similarly, the Holocaust wasn't a finishing school or some kind of work-study internship for college credit or anything beneficial they want to re-write history to make it out to be. It was literal genocide which is a war crime.

They used concentration camp inmates to dig ditches for corpses and shovel them into the crematoriums so they wouldn't need to do it themselves and risk shell-shocking one of their own. They were considered disposable laborers or fodder for torture and medical experiments.

They were lucky to be out of their apartment the day they came to take all the Jews away. They were evicted immediately upon their return where the super realized the mixup.

Paid their life savings to smugglers to get them out to Belgium, and later left for America only weeks before hitler rolled right through on his way to Paris.

The survivors who didn't leave survived only because the rest of the works united to destroy, kill, arrest, try, imprison, and execute the nazis and drive hitler to suicide.
