Far Right Wing politics is abandoning the Christian gospel, labelling it "Weak, Liberal"

https://signalpress.blogspot.com/2023/10/christianity-is-being-invaded-and.html

Even if you're not into Christian doctrine and theology, but politically, you're a Democrat or a Progressive Democrat, stick with me for long enough to grasp the conclusion that's being drawn here. The Signal Press has been informing, educating, and warning people about the dangers of the blending of far right wing Trumpian politics with conservative, Evangelical doctrine and theology to create an entirely new religion that is proving to be a grave danger, not only to American democracy, but to the Christian church as well.

This is more than a crisis for the church. It's an intrusion of heresy, the result of blending extremist right wing politics with ultra-conservative Christianity. It is, as the Apostle Paul says in the passage I cited earlier from 2 Thessalonians, "a powerful delusion, leading them (Christians in the church) to believe what is false."

So if you've ever wondered why it is so difficult to argue using facts and truth with a Trumpie, then the explanation from this Christian epistle may offer a real and legitimate explanation of what you see. These people are deluded and beguiled by a man of lawlessness who is subverting the Christian gospel and the church for worldly political power.

The historical context of a couple of these passages of scripture about "antichrist" or "man of lawlessness," leads me to believe they had a literal application based on the time and place they were written, namely ancient Roman emperors who wanted to be worship like gods. But most conservative Evangelicals favor a futurist interpretation and that's open to anyone's speculation.

1. If they're not following the teachings of Jesus, then they're not Christians.

Since Jesus is far too liberal for them, we have to look elsewhere.
So the question is, who do they follow...who's their God?
Their policies of hate and judgement have always been aligned with the forces of darkness, so their "God" must be the "Prince of Darkness", that is, Satan.
At least now some of them are beginning to own it, even if they're not yet willing to call him by name.

the term "antichrist," found in I John twice, and in the little epistle of 2 John, not in Revelation, as some of them think. So I think there's an attempt here to link Trump to the antichrist in a far-right conservative end times scenario. The two writers whose articles are linked in the blog, Bill Leonard and Russell Moore, sort of point to that possibility.
