Voter Suppression - the wiki entry

I went to wikipedia to find some details about voter ID, and was gobsmacked by the sheer NUMBER of different types of voter suppression ideas conservatives have come up with over the years.

Many of my rightwing acquaintances are horrified by instances where they believe FELONS have been allowed to VOTE. Although I've always regarded disenfrancising felons as a strategy that started in Texas to suppress the black vote, it never occurred to me that 1) we're the only democracy that permanently disenfranchises felons and 2) it's essentially a form of "civic death penalty".
