There’s Dumb, There’s Damn Dumb, and Then There’s Take Your Breath Away Dumb

You remember James O’Keefe, of pimp fame at ACORN, of breaking into Mary Landrieu’s office fame, of sophomoric attempts to seduce Abbie Boudreau of CNN fame, and of NPR fame where he “deceptively” edited the video.

O’Keefe decided to prove that we need voter ID laws in the United States. So, he merrily got his friends to use the names of dead people to go vote in the New Hampshire primary.

First, that’s illegal. His accomplices could be facing both state and federal criminal charges.

But, second, he pretty much proved that we do not need voter ID laws because …. you guessed it …. they got caught: "Someone did, in fact, catch on to the scheme when a man dressed in a suit and tie tried to vote as a dead man known to the poll watcher. The man left before police arrived and said the poll watcher would “soon find out” why he tried to vote under a fake name, the Boston Herald reported Tuesday night."

Much, much more from Juanita Jean: http://juanitajean.com/2012/01/11/theres-dumb-theres-damn-dumb-and-then-theres-take-your-breath-away-dumb/

How can you have different people, all associated with one man known for pulling these kinds of stunts all decide, independently of one another, to test the system?

If they planned it, if they talked about it ahead of time in any way, shape or form, it's a conspiracy.

Mark Zuckerman, a federal prosecutor in the New Hampshire U.S. Attorney’s Office, told TPM he recently became aware of the Project Veritas video and was reviewing it but hadn’t formed any opinion on whether it presented an issue.

does anyone expect them to be purged couple weeks before the GOP primary. They should have asked for an id especially when they protested. He needs to be spanked.

One of their myriad jobs is to register births, deaths, marrige, and they also do auto & dog registration. In the smaller towns, births and deaths are printed in the annual town report as well.
The town clerk is always around at votin' time, and will likely spend half the day gossipping with the ballot clerks......

From the TPM story:

Election law expert Rick Hasen, who writes the Election Law Blog, joked in an email to TPM that O’Keefe’s team should “next show how easy it is to rob a bank with a plastic gun.”

"Oakland Occupy helper faces life in prison" http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/01/09/1053010/-The-Story-of-Khali-A-Modern-American-Political-Prisoner

Here's a snippet from that link:

OPD came in to confiscate blankets and the personal belongings of people. On that day three people were arrested. Two of them were arrested on the basis of them having picked up blankets and were charged with obstruction. But Khali, actually, had picked up his own blanket and had walked away to go sit on a bench about fifteen or twenty feet away.

The police came over and initially just asked him to provide ID. He wasn't able to; he gave them his name, and they told him they would just hold him until they ran his ID. Which they did, and saw that he was on probation, which is one of the ways that they are targeting us, looking for people on probation because they can hold them without any kind of bail.

As soon as they found that they arrested him, and he said that they never told him the charge until much, much later. Because he was on probation, he was the one person out of that group we were unable to bail out because there was a hold placed on it.

James O'Keefe has big-money behind his shenanigans. He breaks the law and walks free. A homeless man faces life in prison for what? (Read the whole story at the link.)

I predict that James O'Keefe will go free. I hope I'm wrong.
