Grover Norquist: 'Ron Paul's is the only endorsement that will matter to Romney'
The Guardian:However, Ron Paul is the only candidate for the Republican nomination whose endorsement will matter to Mitt Romney. It is the only endorsement that will bring votes and the only endorsement, if withheld, that could cost Romney the general election.
If Ron Paul speaks at the GOP convention (as he was not invited to do in 2008), the party will be united and Romney will win in November 2012. If Ron Paul speaks only at his own rally in Tampa, Florida (as happened at the 2008 GOP convention in Minnesota) the party will not be at full strength.
And Ron Paul's the one Republican President who seems to stick to his principles, rathering than cutting political deals. Bummer.

(12,233 posts)He's the biggest corporate tool the Republicans have got going. I don't believe his supporters would go and vote for Romney.. I would think they would look at Ron Paul as a sell out and would be looking for the conspiracy behind the support...
Besides, I think he's setting up a run for his son... His name recognition propelled his son into the Senate... I believe he will be the next Paul who will run for President. They are so similar to one another in what they say and how they think, right down to not supporting the Civil Rights Act..

(829 posts)and Romney can't win with just the old adherents to the dying philosophy - he needs those voters or he may as well not even run.
