The RW religious ones you do vote just as bad as their male counterparts. Nice sentiment though. Maybe in 50 more years the rest of your party will get it too.

I have always opined that men should have no say in whether a woman has an abortion or not. It is totally life changing, physically and fiscally to bear a child and raise that child to adulthood. Most men care "not a fig" whether a child they spawn is supported or not, let alone loved by them. I will admit my bias and will be happy to be dis proven.

The birth of every one of my children was because I decided to have them, not my husband. While some women like to live in fairyland, this is, IMHO, true in the majority of cases. Most men just see the dollar signs and the tight money that will not allow them to dispose of their money as they wish, you know, on tools, on games, on cars, on clothes, on bars and booze, on ridiculous libraries of DVD's, which are rarely viewed themselves, but always on prominently displayed racks or entertainment centers.

I know, they should not get married if they do not desire children, but they love all the rest of marriage, you know, the one where they never have to do the dishes after a meal slaved over by a wife, have sex on a silver platter and thereafter leaving the little woman to do the picking up and laundry, etc., and can still hang out at the local tavern without the wifey, unless he just wants to show her off for a limited period of time. He also is the one with the more expensive car though I know there are exceptions to all of these opinions, I do believe they are in the majority.

I am now getting off my high horse. Too tall for me anyway.

You, Mr. Simpson, can no longer attend services at the Koch Brothers Temple of Doom. May Karl Rove have no mercy on your soul or reputation.

Simpson meant well, and given the male Cons ham-handed interference with women's issues, I appreciate his effort. I don't understand the mainly Republican obsession with this and related social issues that should be on the back burner; or at least until we get the country on a sound economic footing.

The only kind worth listening to. I met him once, during the Clinton years. We asked Simpson if he thought there was a real difference between Democrats and Republicans. And he said, 'No. Most could really go either way.' I think Simpson is a straight-shooter and less of a lobby puppet than many Republicans. Yes, he's crotchety and he's stingy, but he's not a butt-kisser. But then, he's not running for office anymore so he doesn't have to be.

They are pro-birth.

After a baby is breathing air, it and its mother are on their own.

On the other hand, a kid growing up in a one parent home and/or a poor home may qualify for help under a number of federal and state programs.

So, in a way, it's amazing that the 1% hasn't been insisting on a limit to how many kids of the same mom qualify for government assistance, ala China.

I probably shouldn't post this. I don't want to give anyone any ideas.

Then again, when you use churches and religious infrastructure for your Party's political purposes, you have to keep them happy, I guess.

There are plenty of male Democratic Party members who have solid positions supporting abortion.
