Stereotypes now cut many ways. The video above is great because it has several messages within. Inasmuch as it is bloody funny the message is deep.

And then I get this puzzled look.

Full disclosure: I look Chinese. I have 10% Chinese blood.

11. Northern European ancestry

Fathers side 5th gen american, mothers side 15+ generation american.
Yet I speak Japanese due to the unfortunate circumstances of my addiction, manga and anime. I listen to japanese music in the car sometimes and have spoken japanese to gas station clerks by accident. Have been asked if I was married to a Japanese girl, rather than explain I speak Japanese due to cartoons. I tell people I'm 124th% japanese.

16. Things have changed a bit

When my mixed race Asian-Hispanic, American-educated wife was younger she was often complemented on her command of English and her ability to speak it without an Asian accent. Most people are more sophisticated nowadays but they remain curious about her exotic features. She knows right away what they are asking about and she tells them up front what her heritage is.
