Judge Napolitano To Shep Smith: NSA Leaker An ‘American Hero’ Who Exposed ‘Extraordinary Violations’

“Anybody who thinks it is consistent with the Constitution for spies in the United States of America, working for the federal government, to spy on more than half the country, does not understand the Constitution, does not accept our values, does not understand our history and ought not be in office.”

3. That's great and all, but this interview was held 3 years after Bush/Cheney left office, right?

I'd love to see an interview where Napolitano was calling for an indictment BEFORE they left office.

He's been fairly consistent.

BTW, I am sitting perched squarely on the fence...

oath. Doesn't that count for something. Yet I don't think he didn't tell us things we already deep down already knew. I guess that is where my outrage is with people. They act like they didn't know anything. But again I don't want my emails or phone calls being tapped. But then again how would they catch these people that want to do real harm. I mean what worries me is the big one the bomb. That is why am of mixed emotions. Let's face it if there were another 9/11 they would be calling for the President's head on a platter.

Part of me thinks 'holy crap, somebody could blow up an entire city'...and we need to prevent it.

I heard an interview with Senator Feinstein...and if I believe her, I am 'ok' with the telephone 'metadata'. As she described it, its essentially throwing all this information in a box, in case its needed later...and only after a FISA warrant is issued, is it accessed. I'm ok with that....if I believe her.

The more disturbing to me is this PRISM. As I understand it, the same technology that gives me tire ads for a week after I e-mail somebody and tell them I'm looking to buy tires, is at play here...except it spans all platforms, from Google to Facebook...and it is saved for a very long time...and they didn't rely on my just clicking through some Facebook TOS to give permission...they just took permission.

That technology gives me pause. What if somebody determines that the term 'OWS' should throw up a flag...what are the implications of that? And who decides what words and phrases get extra scrutiny?

I have a feeling that this is an enormously useful tool, since Facebook and Youtube have an international user base...that vast majority of online terrorism plots probably filter through servers in the US at some point. So it is very useful...but at what price?

see ads from that store always popping up. I bought something on line from WalMart and I keep getting the same thing pop up over and over for a couple of days. Sometimes its unnerving.

14. If the oath is to preserve and protect the Constitution then

perhaps his disclosers were in honor of that oath. The preservation and protection of the constitution is really in the hands of the American People. The amendment, I can't remember the number, that made the country dry was repealed after the people through their actions made it clear that a dry America was in some way unconstitutional and the amendment was repealed.

people in someone's home that had'nt even been at the convention center yet. Then and there I realized big brother is watching us. In a way this is stifling people's freedom to gather in crowds for demostrations especially if they are peacefully as you can see in the past. We are in a police state. But god help the government when people start to boil up and finally get mad and march in the streets. Especially if both sides of repubs and dems had enough. I know I won't be there but I hope I get to see it on tv. I am way to old.
