5. My condolences....

I was in Orange County at the time so it was weird. All these free thinking people at a Huntington Beach fire pit and all of the sudden some clean cut yuppie types from Newport or Tustin would show up and act like they could buy and sell everyone there.

Way too many "This is Reagan Country" bumper stickers at first but they vanished as the economy got worse and Iran Contra got exposed. People weren't too pleased to see the flood of mentally disturbed homeless people on the streets and the joke was that Reagan figured that since HE was senile and got to be President than those people could make it just fine.

As I said, he was openly ridiculed by most everyone at the time.
