The actions of Obama are indefensible,. ramping up what should be stopped, and that those who started prosecuted.

A terrorist IS as a terrorist DOES.

people before profits government, it will get worse.

Both of our major political parties are corporate owned. At this point, we have a handful of politicians who actually give a damn
about equality and fairness.

We must, by majority, start a political party with a platform for the average person and elect non-corporate politicians.

We are being lead by fear and the media is complicit.

"They" are purposely creating "terrorists" in order for the MIC to increase profits.

Most Americans are aware of this yet allow themselves to be distracted by "entertainment (?)" and wedge issues.

IF we COULD elect honest people we could put an end to this fascist oligarchy. The largest terror state ever.

Until WE, the lower 85% of the socio-economic population make it stop it never will.

neither aided by the party, or given credibility by the media. The Oligarchy has virtually complete control of who is electable, and who is elected. It would take an educated public, shunning media talking points, and shunning pay-per-post apologists and spin doctors on sites such as this. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Adding that an intelligent person who has a conscience has a far better chance of being struck by lightning, then they have winning an election without the support of the 1%.

Of course, thanks to the internet, and ease of communication, theirs a growing awareness towards M$M propaganda, and our broken election process.

Hence their desire to monitor all communications, and control internet content, as if enough people would willfully wake up, and figure out what is really going on. I don't see that happening anytime soon either.

If someone started making a list of persons formerly respected on DU, who are speaking out against the US govt's actions, there would soon be no one left to link here.

It sure didn't take very long.
You are correct in saying that there are people here who are speaking out, and getting thrown under.

Personally, I believe that it is the action of paid posters, who post opposing views a lot of the time. We know that they are being funded by Koch and Rove, and others, so many of us are on to their game.
They just have to be outed for who they are, as they are the REAL enemy, not people like Chomsky!

It isn't OK to speak out about how you understand the world if you are not a Washington politician?

I guess I'm forgetting that character assassination is always easier than actually discussing the view point expressed as that necessarily brings up unpleasant truths about the world.

is still endemic, to discover the whereabouts of Bin Laden.

Result was that Pakistanis became fearful of those providing the vaccinations. In some cases, polio workers were attacked.

I can't think of anything that's lower or more morally reprehensible than this. How in the name of all that's Holy.....?

they were getting the credit.... The bad news is that these actions make it harder to distinguish between the Republicans and Democrats and therefore it looks like one big bi-patisian organization fueled by money from the gate keepers of public office.
