Something in the Air by Thunderclap Newman

Call out the instigators
Because there's something in the air
We've got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution's here, and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together now

Lock up the streets and houses
Because there's something in the air
We've got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution's here, and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together now

Hand out the arms and ammo
We're going to blast our way through here
We've got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution's here, and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together

Went on to play with Paul McCartney's Wings. Sadly, he died at 27 of a heroin overdose.

Gamma (a Ronnie Montrose group) did a cover of it on their 2nd album; I think it is my favorite cover of it.

Representative John Conyers has in the past tried to reinstate the selective service and the draft. His concept is that if everyone was in for being drafted there would never be stupid wars. The "Professional" Military and its butthole buddy the Industrial complex are one of the major problems with our nation. The problem is as seen with these recent wars that not every citizen has a stake in them. A whole scale draft to say the least would remedy that situation. As crazy as it sounds it is a little like the frickin' fascists saying their anti women's rights bills "protect" Women.

On the anti war draft bill (2003)

On the Frickin' fascists belief that they are all things to every Woman. (Within the last few weeks.)

One more thing for that fool who thought "Something In The Air" is a lousy song. Well, friend, you have a lousy taste in music...

I think there are enough sheep that they would still line up and volunteer to be slaughtered.. A draft might actually make selling wars easier.

She's at radioornot.com, Monday through Thursday at 10am-noon EDT

I listen to her when the scatological humor gets too much on Stephanie Miller. Nicole subs for Randi Rhodes pretty often.

For some reason I always want to segue from "Something in the Air" to "Nature's Way":

Maybe it "sounded profound" like other 60's and early 70's tunes like it were popular, but nowadays those lyrics are straight out of N Korea.

It's something straight out of N Korean propaganda.

Multiple refererences to "The Revolution."
WHAT revolution?

No, not the one from 1776.

And especially read this:
"Hand out the arms and ammo
We're going to blast our way through here"

Where is "here?"
The song never makes that clear, however far-left communist and far-right fascist propaganda often speaks of violent acts like these.

I saw the results of this attitude, back in 1970 my parents had to detour drving through Madison, WI because of a bomb that killed an innocent man at Sterling Hall.

None of those four bombers expressed remorse for the guy they killed, and one joined the SLA, the terrorists who had kidnapped Patty Hearst.
One is still on the lam.

I also saw this in a meeting televised, of the "Students for a Democratic Society."
They were anything BUT "democratic."
They were autocratic, intolerant, and extremely radical.
Nowadays we are very critical of the Teabaggers for being like this.

Like the Moody Blues said in "Lost In A Lost World," they sang "Revolution never won, it's just another form of gun..."

Radio was great and the music was outstanding! Pity what kids have to listen to today. Will they be playing Justin Bieber's greatest "hits" in twenty years?
