Not only because of the power of the words, but because of the historical context that it was coming from our first African-American, RE-ELECTED President! I would go as far as to say it was one of the best in his Presidency!

More speechifying from the man who is where he is because of MLK but whose policies and advisors are the antithesis of MLK's philosophy. Bernice King was much better. And yes, I was in Washington 50 years ago... when hope was real and change was a possible. Now we have pretty speeches by this mouth piece but actions like this:
The drums of war are beating again. The Obama administration will reportedly launch a military strike to punish Syrias Assad government for its alleged use of chemical weapons. A military attack would invariably kill civilians for the ostensible purpose of showing the Syrian government that killing civilians is wrong. What we are talking about here is a potential response . . . to this specific violation of international norms, declared White House press secretary Jay Carney. But a military intervention by the United States in Syria to punish the government would violate international law.
