Step 1: Don't mention those poll-numbers, ever. If somebody else mentions them, they are a conspiracy designed to make the GOP look unpopular.

Step 2: The poll-numbers will creep up again for the republicans over time because people forget. Boom, your talking-point:
"Only 52% of Americans say it's a bad thing that the GOP controls the House. Republicans are surging in the polls while Obama's approval numbers look shaky."

...memories are short...VERY short.

And when the PukeBagger/KKKoch machines get rolling accusing every Dem/Lib/Independent of having children with the
nanny or hired help...well, will America remember the current shit pile?

According to the CNN poll, "Democrats now have an 8 point advantage over the Republicans".

However, the CNN article also says:
"with more than a year to go before the 2014 midterm elections, there's plenty of time for these numbers to change."..

IMO, we can't afford to become complacent,
especially since Karl Rove, the Koch Brothers, Kenneth Adelman, Rupert Murdoch et.al. will be spending hundreds of millions of SUPERPAC dollars to defeat Democrats next year.

But then they give their own congressman high marks. Individual polls in individual districts are the only thing that matters. People don't vote for "who controls the house", they vote for one candidate over another.

I was shocked to see a fellow union member that actually think the GOP is right and that Obama care is a job killing. Now this is a guy whose grandfather fought like hell to get him the living wage and yet he will back people like Cruz and Rand Paul drink their cool aid. I told him that supporting Republicans is the same as voting away his bargaining rights. Now wonder many union members voted for Walker in the recall election? Had to have been a small percentage otherwise he would not have been reelected again. My point Republican voters will ignore all the damn(age) these right winger democracy destroying Congressman have done will still get their vote next November, because by the time the Gregory's and the Chuck Todd's on the "liberal" news networks finish reading the Repuke scripts over and over a certain portion of those negativists will believe what they want to and blame all the bs goings on with the government shutdown on the Democrats and the Democrats like always will not defend themselves and follow their non defensive rebuking as they did in 2010.
So those are fin facts to see but the Chuck Todd's will find excuses for the Repukes to gain back some of their negatives.
