Tom Coburn Is Sorry He Called Harry Reid an “Absolute Asshole,” But It’s Not Like He Didn’t Mean It

We’ve known for some time that Senator Tom Coburn is completely hilarious and possibly insane. Back in 2009, he described his front-yard armadillo containment strategy (not a metaphor!) to The New York Times’s Mark Leibovich thusly: “‘I kill them,’ he said with relish, ‘by slicing their heads off with the sharp edge of a shovel.’” Also not a metaphor!

Coburn unexpectedly popped back up in the news cycle, like an armadillo on a senator’s lawn, to remind America of his own wit and wisdom. On Monday, at a gala for the New York Young Republican Club (Virgins Anonymous, as its known to college Democrats), Coburn reportedly characterized Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid as an “absolute asshole.” Additionally, Coburn said, his relationship with Reid lacks “comity.”

Harry Reid’s spokesperson responded in the manner of . . . an absolute asshole—but the kind of absolute asshole who makes some pretty good points: “Nothing says ‘comity’ like childish playground name-calling, especially from a senator who has not sponsored a single piece of successful bipartisan legislation during his entire Senate career.”

More like Faux News wanting to expand on that sentiment by saying "My guess, is your not alone in that sentiment" with Reid. Just more BS. They are right we are wrong BS. I don't know what part of the dropping poll numbers don't they get.

Good old Fox doing their normal pro Republican piece. Could you imagine if a Democrat called Ted Cruz an asshole how Fox might treat that Democrat if they appeared on their show. I'm sure it would be exactly like this!!! NOT.

I have been a regular observer for some time. This is a fantastic site for showing some great clips, particularly from Fox, so I don't have to watch it live myself.

Thanks again.
