TYT: Elian Gonzalez Grown Up, Leaves Cuba, Speaks About 'Uncle Fidel'

"Fourteen years after he made headlines as the subject of a bitter international custody battle, Gonzalez spoke to CNN on Tuesday.

It's his first trip abroad since the U.S. government removed him at gunpoint from his relatives' home in Miami and, after a legal battle, sent him back to Cuba to live with his father.

Gonzalez, who turned 20 last week, was just 6 years old when he was found clinging to an inner tube after the tiny boat he was traveling in from Cuba sank on the way to the United States. Gonzalez's mother and nine other people in the boat drowned."* The Young Turks hosts Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian break it down, including Cenk's dramatic confrontation with Elian Gonzalez protesters in Miami during the height of the story.

#0 sez: "If you watch only one Young Turks video all year, make it this one- Includes the story of Cenk's first appearance on Fox News"

and woke him up to the fact that his party was totally full of shit.

People don't remember it well, but that crowd was completely insane, kneeling and thumbing their rosary beads and claiming little Elian was the Second Coming, among other things. It was religious hysteria at its worst and politics was only a small part of it with those lunatics.

The extended family the authorities stupidly handed him over to were also a real picture, Uncle Borracho and the constantly fainting cousin Marisleysis who was responsible for his care.

He says he remembers his time here with a great deal of anger. I don't blame him a single bit. The law was clear and he should have been returned immediately instead of allowing all that lunacy from Batista Cubans.
