Lyndon Johnson's War on Poverty Speech

In honor of the 50th anniversary of Lyndon Johnson's State of the Union address in which he called for a war on poverty I have posted a copy of the address.

has been ignored by all presidents since LBJ. President Johnson grew up poor, and he taught children in his class that came to his shcool "hungry" everyday. History will be kind to him as time passes as the most "liberal" leader we have ever had including FDR.
