These criminal enterprises known as "corporations" just factor the fines into their cost of doing business, and go on about their merry way breaking any laws that they find cumbersome and buying legislators to get rid of any regulation that could possibly interfere with their bottom line.

It hits us as a double-whammy.

As taxpayers we have to pay for the cleanup.
As customers, the corps raise their prices to pay for the backlash and more 'regulations'.
