If Watters says we should raise the poor's income instead of cutting the rich's income, why do the Republicans keep voting down minimum wage increases?

(9,688 posts)I understand that the National_Enquirer/Bill_O'Reilly/... crowd exists and that there's a market for it, but why would it be taken seriously as an "opposing view" to anything that actually matters? It's just stupidity marketed to people who are entertained by stupid shit.
DU is the only place where I see that kind of stupidity being put forward as something worth reacting to. Perhaps that's because I've never owned a TV in my long and now waning life, and I frequent DU because it generally has much higher standards.
Real politics is conducted on a higher plane.

(2,065 posts)I think it was Watters who ran away from Mark Rufallo on his own Ben Ghazi question because he couldn't take the heat, and ducked out of the kitchen, almost cutting Ruffalo off in mid sentence. In other words before it became painfully clear even to the dumbed down crowd of Fox viewers that Rufallo really knew what he was talking about, and was owning this guy, Watters ducked out before he got skinned alive. These Fox "reporters" and interviewers have probably developed and impressive arsenal of duck and evasion tactics by now to avoid liberals who can burst their bubble and cut through the web of illusion that they have so carefully spun.
