2. A dear friend has an as-yet undiagnosed condition that makes her blind (plus a few other symptoms) -

something to do with optical nerves. A diagnosis (from a real neurological doctor in a real hospital setting) seems near. Some sort of auto-immune thing. She went without her Marinol while getting her blood radically thinned out to try and dissolve blood clots.
She went back to being blind. Her doctor was thrilled to have a test subject for this right there in the hospital so she could test and observe. My friend took the Marinol. Vision restored. Smoking a joint works just as well. Not woo. And she invites anyone who feels she should not use pot in one form or another in order to SEE, because it has not been "scientifically tested" - to kiss her ass. Actually, she laughs at the thought that someone would try to deny her any treatment because in their opinion it is "woo". And it is real blindness; the nerves shut down and there is pain.

but they're very lucrative. It's money for the medical industry for as long as the treatments last. Cures however stop the positive cash flow.

4. He touched on the crux of the problem at the end, treatments don't cure. Big Pharma only wants

treatments because the money keeps flowing, cures cut the money off. Capitalism doesn't work well for everything. The treatment for my disease is $15,000 every 2 months, needless to say I am not getting treated.

5. Cancer is a huge industry in this country and there are many who have

a vested interest in seeing that it stays that way. The thing is, if those interested parties would just switch their allegiance to producing, selling medical marijuana, there would probably be even bigger rewards, and cancer patients might actually recover their health.
