Papantonio: Want to Sue Starbucks? TOO BAD!!!

Imagine a hypothetical situation where you go to Starbucks for your morning cup of coffee using your Starbucks Card. You take it back to your office to enjoy it throughout the morning. But later in the day, you start feeling ill. You rush to the hospital and doctors begin running tests. You learn that a chemical that’s only ever found in coffee beans poisoned you. After racking up thousands of dollars in medical costs, you go to sue Starbucks. Much to your dismay, you can’t do that, regardless of the case being clear-cut. All of this could happen because of a new trick in Starbucks’ forced arbitration clause.

Tricks like this are being used by a number of corporations that eliminate consumer rights to hold them accountable in a court of law.

Ring of Fire’s Mike Papantonio guest hosts The Big Picture on RT America and joins Julia Duncan from the America Association for Justice to discuss corporations’ dirtiest new trick.

Maybe be cause they can spew all kinds of LIES and Propaganda and NOT BE HELD Responsible for any of it. They can even cause the death of someone (Dr. George Tiller) and never be touched in court.

I can understand how Netflix or Verizon or whoever can get away with this shit by burying it in the 'Terms Of Agreement' that no one ever reads before they accept, but I don't sign a contract when I walk into a Starbucks.
