No history on the History Channel, no weather on the Weather channel, little to discovery on the Discovery Channel. America does cable.

(725 posts)Except that it wasn't. Coleman had spent half a century in the trenches of TV weathercasting; he had once been an accredited meteorologist, and remained a virtuoso
forecaster. But his work was more a highly technical art than a science. His degree, received fifty years earlier at the University of Illinois, was in journalism. And then there was the fact that the research that Coleman was rejecting wasn't "the science of meteorology" at all it was the science of climatology, a field in which Coleman had spent no time whatsoever.
Skepticism is, of course, the core value of scientific inquiry. But the essay that Coleman published would have more properly been termed rejectionism. Coleman wasn't arguing against the integrity of a particular conclusion based on careful original research something that would have constituted useful scientific skepticism. Instead, he went after the motives of the scientists themselves. Climate researchers, he wrote, "look askance at the rest of us, certain of their superiority. They respect government and disrespect business, particularly big business. They are environmentalists above all else."

Critics of Coleman who do study and work in the field of climate science have produced detailed line-by-line rebuttals of his arguments against global warming
It seems strange that Mr. Coleman does apparently little to no research prior to making statements. In this article he relies mainly on insinuation, inference and emotional arguments to claim the science of global warming is wrong. Within the scope of his arguments he makes clearly obtuse errors that are sometimes even comical.

That last piece there is the clincher for me. The big reveal--we reich wingers hate government (unless we own it. In a partnership with Big Business, which we worship.)

(24,790 posts)Every time this bubble headed bleach blonde speaks she goes out and says something about printing ballots off your home computer in Colorado, which is against the law, I know I use to live in the state , then she gets some right wing hypocrite that is making millions off a show that tells people what the weather is going to be like in there neighborhood and then he spews that climate change or climate warming is a hoax, so the question needs to be asked is his weather channel telling us the truth about the weather apparently not.
Lets see if CO2 kills or not:
I wonder if the bubble headed bleach blonde ever has reported on her Fix news broadcast or if right wing hypocrite co-founder of this mis-leading weather forecast show is telling us the truth or not about the daily weather pattern we seen happening everyday.
I wonder if these two morons have ever read a newspaper account where by someone goes out into there garage and has decided to commit suicide by sticking a hose of some kind in the tail pipe of there running car with the garage door closed and kills themselves from CO2 gas.
Now lets ask dippy one and dippy two if CO2 is not deadly gas or not? Did the car running and spewing out CO2 kill the individual or not?
Now lets expand this comment / experiment for both of them and all there little right wing minions to fully understand what is happening here on this blue marble we live in / on called mother earth, the CO2 gas goes up into "OUR" bigger garage called the ionosphere and it is trapped and then guess what this CO2 gas is heated and when heat is applied to a cold molecule it makes the cooled molecule heated and it expands and then it turn takes up more space and then it takes up more of the surrounding gases which become less like oxygen, nitrogen, ect.... was that simple enough for ya co-founder of Fix weather Channel and Fix noise

from Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Heartland_Institute
"The Heartland Institute is an American conservative and libertarian[2] public policy think tank based in Chicago, which states that it advocates free market policies.[3][4][5][6] The Institute is designated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit by the Internal Revenue Service and has a full-time staff of 31,[7] including editors and senior fellows,[8] as well as 222 unpaid policy advisors.[9] Heartland's 990 form in 2011[10] reported revenues of $4.7 million. The Institute was founded in 1984 and conducts research and advocacy work on issues including government spending, taxation, healthcare, education, tobacco policy, hydraulic fracturing[11] global warming, information technology, and free-market environmentalism.
In the 1990s, the group worked with the tobacco company Philip Morris to question serious cancer risks to secondhand smoke, and to lobby against government public-health reforms.[12][13][14] More recently, the Institute has focused on questioning the science of human-caused climate change, and was described by the New York Times as "the primary American organization pushing climate change skepticism."[15] The Institute has sponsored meetings of climate change skeptics,[16] and has been reported to promote public school curricula challenging the scientific consensus on human-caused climate change.[17]"

Weather Channel Climate Expert Calls for Decertifying Global Warming Skeptics (January 17, 2007)
Excerpt: The Weather Channels most prominent climatologist is advocating that broadcast meteorologists be stripped of their scientific certification if they express skepticism about predictions of manmade catastrophic global warming. This latest call to silence skeptics follows a year (2006) in which skeptics were compared to Holocaust Deniers and Nuremberg-style war crimes trials were advocated by several climate alarmists.
