THIS ‘FAMILY FEUD’ CONTESTANT KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT “HAS TO BE LICKED”

http://decider.com/2014/12/16/family-feud-lick-answer/

By Meghan O'Keefe

Ever since Steve Harvey has taken the reins of Family Feud, the show has shifted from being a silly game show full of 1970s feel-good family conservatism, and now it’s awkward, hilarious, and nasty. Case in point: This week, one elderly contestant named Gene gave a glorious answer to the prompt, “Name something that has to be licked.”

Would it be a lollipop? A stamp? A salt lick? No. See, Gene is smarter than most Americans. Gene has carnal knowledge that most of us don’t have. Gene knows that “a woman” has to be licked. Yep, that’s what he said. He stared straight into the camera and answered that “a woman” is something that needs to be licked. Oh, and his wife, Debbie, was really excited about this answer. You can see for yourself:

After Gene gave his response, she clapped, gave her husband a high five, and hollered, “Good answer! Good answer! Woooooooo! Woooooooo!”

Unfortunately, Gene’s answer was not on the board. Host Harvey, aware that he was basking in the shadow of true greatness — and what I would assume is a very healthy marriage — shook his head and lamented to the audience, “Folks, I can’t tell you how many good answers don’t show up on that board.”

It’s no “In the butt, Bob,” but then again, what is?

He watches a lot of TV and I used to watch the John O'Hurley version when I was laid up and on crutches. My brother said that it has changed, and not for the better. To make it even more Jungian, it happened to be on the TV when I passed it to take the dogs out. And the author and my brother are exactly right. It used to be about families, but the little I saw was really raunchy.

I especially liked it when they had on the celebrity look alikes. Dolly Parton and Marilyn Monroe were the smartest, LOL, while George W Bush* was just clueless...

The only time I would watch that show is when Harvey is on. The dude with the white hair and slimy local anchorman look - never made me laugh. He could occasionally get a smirk or even a smile, but Harvey has a way of cracking me up. He's naturally funny. Just looking at his expressions is priceless.
