we moved here for my husband's job. "How bad can it be?" I thought. Little did I know ... I will say the inner neighborhoods of Houston are not so bad. Many cultural opportunities, diverse restaurants, democratic mayor, and even an active communist party. But the suburbs are full of fascist maniacs. If they don't support Cruz they inevitably have a "Ron Paul Revolution" sticker on their car. It's unreal.

Yet even when conservatives prove beyond the remotest shadow of a doubt that they are congenitally incapable of governing fairly or effectively, their brain-dead "base" in the shallow end of the gene pool will re-elect them. In their dim minds, the end of the world as we know it is still better than having to admit they were wrong. And they breed indiscriminately, as well as vote. We're all doomed.

We have majorities in both Houses that at least tacitly reject science. That Mitch McConnell would put a science denier in charge of the science committee speaks volumes for him.

Whether conservatives want to admit it or not, God is not going to invent that next new thing or drive technology and science forward. Scientists are going to do that.

Since manufacturing is increasingly a thing of the past - relegated to developing countries around the world and even service is being outsourced from call centers to legal services, etc., the one thing that should remain a stronghold for the U.S. is science and innovation.

If we see Congress turn their backs on science and investment in innovation, etc. we will have gone back 3 centuries to the days before the Enlightenment. It was the Enlightenment that gave us the ideas that manifested themselves in U.S. independence from Great Britain and the establishment of our representative democracy.

Benjamin Franklin and many of the founding fathers tinkered in science. They were curious about things but they accepted the idea of the scientific method.

I fear for our country when Congress is led by people that deny science or facts for that matter. They are ideologues and will contort and twist everything that does not support their regressive policies.

The powerful labs run by industrial companies have long ago disappeared. The 1% deemed them to be an unnecessary cost that was depriving them of their just millions doing absolutely nothing except exporting jobs. The same with government. The Republicans believe that the money sent to universities was a waste and had to be cut to give the 1% more tax breaks. He is the perfect choice to run the committee as the United States continues its downward spiral.

Not to worry. We are at the End Times according to these prophets of dome anyway.

they put in as chair for committee. The GOP is out to destroy this nation. When will the voters wake up to the mission of the GOP. Why did they take away funds from the IRS? Why are they not funding the DHS? Must be a reason to make the USA more weak. the GOP can only win elections now by redistricting and suppression of voting rights. They really don't represent the majority of the USA, just their radical base.
When will the DEMOCRATS stand up to the GOP and defeat bills they are trying to pass.

When will the press and news media tell the real story of the GOP? Why don't they tell the citizens of the USA what the GOP is really about.

Why does the GOP support and elect felons, rapists to office. They move these criminals to different states to hide their pass history. Does any press or news media print articles about these crooks?

All the actions of the GOP tell us what their mission really is.

75. Isis centered in America’s Texas
Wed Jan 14, 2015, 11:54 AM
Jan 2015

Ted Cruz is the nicest of the Isis centered in America’s Texas culture where all of us wonder how in the world of wild sport politics, or why did this character ever get elected to office. Answer they lie and cheat.

My own thinking is that religious faction that is called Isis, they are the dark-siders, those Cheney Bush links to terror and torture they did what they did and will do it again.

These characters play with words and cheat. Like I said many times if America would take the lies out of politics the money would disappear. The media is basically a lie machine for politics.

Cruz is the perfect front man that supports this Isis strict type of theology.

Cheating in cultural thoughts that parallel to our religious right and Texas is loaded with this excruciating public cultural mistake that perpetuates hate distrust and most of all untruths.

Reading through Dan Brown’s book called “The Da Vinci Code” totally made me think particularly when this author narrates Da Vinci as a flamboyant Gay. Through my years in college and humanities courses the sexual orientation of Da Vinci was not included back in the sixties.

Very particular, the author Dan Brown says that Noah was an Albino! Quite a surprise to me… The real kicker is the feminine deity back in that antiquity was called “Isis” as a culture this has really turned into something else. Sheesh Gomer Pile what the heck is going on here? Better go see Andy and see what the Sherriff says, because Mayberry Texas is going loopy…
