"Cenk Uygur (http://www.twitter.com/cenkuygur) host of The Young Turks discusses the revelation of some pretty whack conspiracy theories Senator Ted Cruz believes.
Believing in wild and wacky things is nothing new to either Republicans or Democrats so it should surprised absolutely no one that Texan Republican Senator Ted Cruz holds dear so rather tall tales. Things Cruz believes range from, but are certainly not limited to; Communist infiltrators of Ivy League schools to a devious plot to destroy the game of golf. And this is only the tamer things that he is sure of."

(8,636 posts)As for that bit about Agenda 21, Glenn Beck has been pushing that for years in one of his books as well as his ravings on hate TV. My crazy-ass, wingnut cousin keeps a copy of Beckerhead's book up on a reading stand like a devotional.

(704 posts)The right wing intentionally runs the wackiest candidates they can find---the real crazies--so that they can set the margin of politics as far to the right as they can get it. Then they get some dull zombie like Scott Walker to play low key on the crazy talk so that he'll look like some sort of moderate next to the lunatic. Right wing voters who might be less fringe than others can feel they're picking the sensible candidate when all along that guy or gal is further to the right than anyone before him or her.
The next time they push further to the right.
Meanwhile the Dems can never run anyone far to the left. They must always run the "centrist"--all others need not apply.
So there is no left margin.
It's just pulled further to the right.
