(7,865 posts)Only a matter of time before the mainstream media tries to claim that Sanders support comes from the Occupy movement.
Of course then we could just show them the videos of his turn out in Minneapolis last Sunday!

(17,064 posts)My fb feed is filled with pro-Bernie posts. Not a peep about Clinton or O'Malley. From my conservative fb friends is an occasional Rand Paul post. Nothing on the others, though I don't have any Fundy friends. IMO Bernie is killing it on social media.

(9,126 posts)I keep being told that it is only the far left that is supporting him, but I am not seeing that. He's fresh, exciting and funny. People are starting to talk.

(17,064 posts)Maybe 50%. Probably 25% Third Way Dems. About 15% republicans, and 10% Libertarians.
Certainly not a scientific survey, but def the excitement and buzz about Bernie is far more than all others combined. Not even close. And the liberal friends are paying attention to TPP, NSA spying, woman's reproductive rights, LBGT, and more. The Libertarians post about the NSA spying, other than that the others aren't paying attention to any issues.

(34,825 posts)we were at one of the local breweries a couple weeks ago throwing back some pints when I brought up Sanders. Both were very enthusiastic about his entry into the race. We are all close to 50 years old.

I'm not sure I like or trust it. Am I just being overly suspicious?

I've sometimes had the feeling it's too slick and superficial, but I don't thing it's anything to distrust.

(24,780 posts)to force conversations on topics dear to him. I don't think he has any expectations of winning. If he did, why is he not joining in with his followers and attacking Hillary? I think because he doesn't want to weaken her going into November. He likely also recognizes that it's Hillary's turn.
Bernie said that he's in it to win. He has a long standing reputation of being a man of his word, and I believe him!
Bernie is not attacking Mrs. Clinton because it is not his style. In his forty years of campaigning, he has never ever led a negative based campaign. He has even said that he would not say anything negative about Mrs. Clinton, but wants to speak about differences in debates. Bernie wants to speak issues, not personalities. I believe that this is something that the public has been yearning for.
Along with his reputation of sticking to his issues, writing legislation to make them law, and not being negative, I believe that this is what WE THE PEOPLE have been looking for in a politician for a long time, and have not found. Bernie is the answer to this.
Once people find out his story and his reputation they will nominate him as the Democratic Party's candidate for President. Once the country finds out, Bernie shall win a landslide election like we have never seen in this country before!

(8,175 posts)that's one of the things I like about him. He's going to win on his own credentials, not by cutting down someone else. I've always hated negative politics and believe it's a lot of wasted money and energy. Bernie's concept of debates instead of a lot of wasted TV ads is also good. I wish members of congress had to have debates with opponents, rather than running political ads which are usually pretty phony and most often end up in negative attacks, and waste a ton of money...except they don't waste it for the rich...they win the elections for the rich. Money would not be able to influence politics so muich if we were only watching debates instead of Paid ads.
Bernie doesn't like getting caught up in the games. He's in this for real.

(8,175 posts)I choose not to be a defeatist so early in the game. Personally, I see a lot of enthusiasm by him, for someone who does not care if he wins.
