Thom Hartmann: Obama Takes On The Rise of Drug-Resistant Superbugs

Patty Lovera, Food & Water Watch joins Thom. the Obama administration met at the White House with representatives from some of the country's leading restaurants - food companies - and hospitals to come up with a plan to fight the overuse of antibiotics - which is leading to the rise of drug-resistant superbugs. What happens if we DON'T reduce antibiotic use?

This crisis is a good example of how things go when something big corporations do for profit butts up against the need to change or stop it to protect mankind.
I am talking about Climate Change. Ms. Lovera talks about how this problem was known at the inception of antibiotics and the push in the 1970's, yet we are in 2015 and still doing little more than talking as the problem is reaching epidemic proportions, literally. Climate Change is steadily getting worse and we are already seeing the negative effects. Yet, by the time that this problem gets bad enough to overcome the corporate money arrayed against doing anything, it will be too late!
This is why to me the election of Bernie Sanders to the Presidency is so important. He is committed to taking steps and cannot be bought off by the industry. For every other candidate it is either just lip service, or outright denial.
