1. GREED was calculated by comparing average incomes with the total number of inhabitants living beneath the poverty line. The research and methodology used were from Kansas State Univ. officials. See the article below for more info.

Surprised the analysis comes so fast though. Seems like back in 2000, nobody had the numbers on Bush's tax cut.

(37,573 posts)that was after the doofus was already elected.
Gore mentioned it in the debates, but Bush responded with 'fuzzy math' and the media acted like facts were unavailable or math was too hard.

(32,723 posts)All of the "Monica, Monica, Monica" crap they were spewing.
Bush ran of, "Restoring honor and integrity to the White House".
This, of course, was followed by one disaster after another while tossing in a "Hot Military Stud".

(37,573 posts)I think the media could see the dollar signs.
Even the "great socialist" (self proclaimed) Lawrence O'Donnell was on PBS complaining that Gore's tax cut plan would not do anything for HIM and that was why he liked Bush's plan better.
I had an email exchange with Somerby and he mentioned how Ted Koppel was on TV saying "this math makes my head spin" but then he was in some zoning dispute with a neighbor and was seemingly adept at calculating square footages and such.
Oh, he knew damned well which tax plan, which presidential candidate was gonna be better for HIS bottom line.

(4 posts)I overheard an "average Joe" praise Trump's tax plan, "Trump makes a lot of sense. That's tax freedom."
Yes, both plans stink and heavily favor the richest Americans. But, how do you convince your average Joe, who makes 50K or less a year, that no GOP tax plan will help him? There are millions of "Joe's" and "Jane's" out there who will gladly vote for a Republican, but they don't listen.
