TYT: “Texas” Means Crazy In Norway

Texans are very proud of being Texan. But it turns out that in some cultures they have gained a certain reputation. In Norway, for example, Texas means crazy. John Iadarola (Think Tank), Hannah Cranston (Think Tank), Hasan Piker (Pop Trigger), and Karamo Brown hosts of The Young Turks discuss.

How do you think Texans will react when hearing this news? Do you think that crazy is an apt description for Texas? Let us know in the comments below.

“The reputation of Texas extends so far beyond U.S. borders that it has become slang for “crazy” in Norway.

Texas Monthly noted this week that the word “helt Texas” was being routinely used by Norwegians instead of “completely crazy” or “chaotic.”

And it’s not just on social media, Norway’s media has been including the phrase to describe everything from sporting events to a biologist finding a tropical swordfish in Norwegian waters.”

You don't have to go to Norway to think Texas means bat shit crazy! I've been saying it for 45+ years, and it gets crazier every damned minute.

I know some "wonderful escapees" from Texas, and I've even met some pretty normal folks there too; but that is one strange big piece of "x-Mexico".

Crazy?....yeah, plenty of that going around.

(I toned it down a little so folks aren't offended....but Norway and I tend to agree on this one. Is that really news?)

Republicans in Texas have stolen every election for governor since McMonkey. Plus a few other races for both houses of congress and some local elections for state government.

Texas major cities are blue so why is it that repugs are always winning?

There's no way in hell that greg abbott beat hugely popular Wendy Davis for governor straight up.

It's no coincidence that the advent of the electronic voting machine has led to Texas downfall. Before the e-voting machines, Texas was a democratic stronghold.

but it's funny to you. Hahahaha! It's so funny that GWB stole two elections and nearly wiped out the US. Hahahaha! It's very funny that elections across the US are being stolen every time there's a election.
