(3,457 posts)the focus on "saving animals" is a rich people's safe feel good type of charity.
And the farm is a great tax deduction!

What exactly is she doing wrong?

(8,175 posts)I've never been rich, and I've been doing it all my life. I've rehabbed wild life and bottle raised many babies (both wild and domestic) and taken in many rescues. I currently have more than I can afford to care for properly and wish there was a way to remedy the financial difficulties they are causing...as they age... But I don't get tax breaks and I don't do it because is a richy rich thing to do to look good. I do it because I am passionate about animals. I recognize that in Tracey, and I've known for some time what a dog lover Jon is (and assume he loves all animals). I am so glad they are in a financial position to be able to do this.
So, please just don't go there!

(18,890 posts)I have an animal rescue facility on my property - There is never enough time and $$.
It would be awesome for them to start a fund for small struggling rescue groups that exist in the shadows due to lack of publicity.
