Just got a note from this lovely lady. Still speaking out.
She is still speaking the truth. Using her videos to get her views across.
I would rather be thought of as a truth-teller than be thought of as toeing any party line. Go Sane Progressive!

(45,984 posts)Right on, sister.
If we Sandernistas are paid Republican trolls, then Hillary Clinton is a Republican.
Get over it everybody.
I do not see a serious discussion of issues from Mrs. Clinton's supporters in GD/P. Instead, there is a lot of bandwagon fallacy (join us, you losers, because we're winning). It isn't even a sincere invitation.
The Sane Progressive is right. The Democratic Party has already split. This split has been a long time coming. With every new Democratic president comes the hope of an end to the era of Reaganomics, only to see the New Democratic embrace neolberalism; there is very little daylight between the two and I am becoming less and less interested which is implemented.
I don't think that a corporate Democrat is worse than a Republican. On economic issues and issues of labor rights (an issue of social justice as well as economic justice) a corporate Democrat is only as bad as a Republican. Even in some aspects of foreign policy there is little difference between a corporate Democrat and a Republican. Mr. Obama has put boots on the ground in the Endless War, the war for oil, as it should properly called, because it has little to do with terrorism; terrorism has never been anything more than a false reason given for invading Iraq. The consequence of the Endless War is a restriction on civil liberties. President Obama is about to sign CISA. The Fourth Amendment has been trashed.
"Oh, Mr. Rabbit," I hear from the HRC Group, "Why are labor unions endorsing Mrs. Clinton by the bushel if she is so bad for labor rights?" Beats me. But I'll already be protesting in the streets by the time the members of those unions come to join me after more jobs are shipped overseas following Mrs. Clinton's implementation of the terrible trio of trade deals (TPP, TTIP and TISA), one of which is already before Congress for rubber stamping.

(480 posts)And I'd also like to back her up on several issues. Hillary personifies the political problems we have in this country right now. She is wholly owned by the industries who support her. If you want to know how she'll govern just look at her donor list. And make no mistake, the moment she's elected, if she is, she'll be pro TPP and Keystone Pipeline. If you believe otherwise you're sadly mistaken. Most progressives like me know that if Hillary is the nominee they'll hold their nose and vote for her. But enthusiasm, hardly. She only passes for a liberal in a country who's political systems have been moved to the far right, as ours have.
And she is the candidate the republicans want to run against. They have spent 30 years vilifying her. I know, I've been there for every minute of it. There is no one rank and file republicans hate more than Hillary. They'll crawl to the poles naked over broken glass just to vote against her, regardless of who the eventual republican nominee is, no matter how hapless and uninspiring they are. If you don't believe me, listen to what Ann Coulter's has to say about it. You can skip ahead to 3:30.
Maybe someone could help me enbed the video. Here's a link to the article.
P.S. Bernie consistently pulls 25% of the republican vote in Vermont. He knows how to talk to republicans. He's running an issues oriented campaigne, and we win on the issues. Bernie can win this thing. And when he does we'll make a tremendous move foreword. If Hillary wins, we stay right where we are for another 8 years.

You are right, she is no Republican....and she demands a lot from the parties. As we all should.

(2,570 posts)(or dumb) I've been battling the thirdway types almost as long as I have rightwingers online -- close to a decade and a half now -- and their really is no difference between them in reagrds to how they debate and whatnot, from their rightwing cousins, much like there's little to no diff between where Hillary and her cousins get most of tainted money
