Televangelist Jim Bakker doesnt believe in climate change, but he does believe that the evil spirit of ISIS is hovering over America, and thats why God is sending extreme weather events to America. Get ready for a tidal wave of stupidity.
Ring of Fires Farron Cousins discusses this.

(2,382 posts)... I thought this blithering idiot jumped the shark when he got tossed in the slammer for playing fast and loose with church funds, or whatever it was he got busted for, back in the day. Guess he had no trouble finding a few more sheep to fleece once he was off supervised release. No one ever went broke under-estimating the intelligence of the American Jesus-freak.
Didn't his wife, Tammy Faye - y'know, the one who applied her makeup with a trowel - cut him loose while he was still gettin' perp-walked across their driveway?

(5,668 posts)I think he's warning those who are harming his Earth that judgment for them is coming , I can't imagine who that would be. I assume Jim supports many of those who are.

(45,984 posts)Is he yammering on about Islamic extremists or warning us of worshipping a pagan goddess? He doesn't know much about either.

I haven't thought about Jim Bakker in years. I don't even recall giving him a thought when Tammy passed away. I thought I recognized that used-car-salesman's grin of his from somewhere. He seems to have aged better than Tammy did, but I doubt that a reflection on a life well lived.

(17,912 posts)...probably. Hell, even Jerry Falwall called him a greatest scab and cancer on the face of christianity in 2000 years..and being a significant scab and cancer himself, he ought to know.

(86 posts)Many years ago, I went to Muskegon Michigan to see Frank Zappa at the Frauenthal Theater (Beautiful theater, by the way). The first thing that Frank said, was that he just HAD to come and see the town that produced Jim Bakker! The embarrassment everyone there felt of being associated with that nit wit was palpable. And he didn't learn a thing by going to prison, except how not to get caught in the future.
