(658 posts)I honestly do believe that Bernie Sanders will win the Democratic nomination, and that he will win in the next general election... MEANING... Bernie will be our next president.
I was trying to be delicate in my post. I wanted to speak to the cultural phenomenon of parents who just can't fathom the idea that their children (actually themselves) could lose at... well... anything.
I absolutely believe that Hillary Clinton, while being a very decent person... a fine individual, and someone who has devoted the greater part of her life to public service, will lose the nomination in 2016 to Bernie Sanders.
Hillary Clinton absolutely deserves our respect, but her positions just don't represent the problems that we - the American middle, and lower classes are facing.
She is going to lose. I understand that this concept is just not acceptable to some. That was where my blue ribbon and/or trophy comment was aimed at.
Sorry.

(1,192 posts)kind of like a cat, according to Obama.
Even after all the disappointment and a sense of betrayal that I felt for the man, I didn't expect that kind of derisive words from him.
Fill us in on what you're trying to say.
Nyan
(1,192 posts)but sure, why not. I'll fill you in.
I'm talking about Obama implying that people are drawn to Hillary's opponent just because we're attracted to new shiny object.
In fact, this is what he said.
"Hillary has been in the public eye for a long time and in a culture in which new is always better. And, you know, you're always looking at the bright, shiny object that people don't, haven't seen before."
I don't support Bernie simply because Hillary has been around for a long time, and Bernie's new. I've known him for a long time. And I support him because he speaks to issues that are important to me. And I don't appreciate being condescended to, by anyone. That was my point.

(13,297 posts)beautiful young woman introducing...
"All lives do NOT matter.... until Black lives matter..."
She also notes: "my first vote as an American citizen will go to Bernie Sanders..." roughly 3:00 into the clip -- don't know how consistent the rest of the clip is, drop-outs, etc, but posting for now

(16,254 posts)It was windy in Iowa, about that time, and I darned near froze just running from the store to the car. Sure wouldn't want to stand in that kind of weather, but what a crowd that dared to do so. Love the portion of the video with the people going up the escalator.

(298 posts)If his supporters keep up this momentum, no one can stop Bernie from being our next President. He's simply amazing, and so are all of his supporters.
