TYT: Carly Fiorina Sold Baby Parts

Carly Fiorina famously lied about Planned Parenthood selling baby parts and seeing footage of it. Now some journalists at Al Jazeera, including TYT’s own Michael Sure, have uncovered the fact that she profited off of fetal tissue in the past. Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz (Turner Classic Movies), Ana Kasparian, and Jimmy Dore (The Jimmy Dore Show), hosts of the The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

"Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, a staunch opponent of abortion, made at least $83,000 serving on the board of directors of Merck & Co. at a time when the pharmaceutical company was producing vaccines using fetal stem cell lines derived from aborted fetuses, according to corporate documents reviewed by Al Jazeera America. The program “Inside Story” with Ray Suarez also obtained documents indicating that during Fiorina’s tenure on the board, anti-abortion groups had asked Merck to stop producing such vaccines, and that the company had refused...

The Fiorina campaign did not respond to Al Jazeera’s requests for comment. Merck confirmed Fiorina’s tenure on the board, but said it does not retain the relevant compensation records from that time.”*

...Fiorina's rabid anti-abortion stance might possibly be a result of her having had one or more in her youth, and regretting it later. She certainly foams at the mouth on this topic.

To quote Herman Cain, "I don't have facts to back this up." Just speculating.

An aside - instead of choosing, as some do, not to vaccinate with a product derived from an aborted fetus, wouldn't choosing to use those vaccines be a way to honor those little lives by making use of the good that came from their brief existence? Protecting children by immunizing them certainly seems "pro-life."

Per Pew Research, most wealth in this country today is made through financial investment. Medical research (and related companies) is big business and why people invest in it. How many in Congress are benefiting from investments in these companies? Plenty I bet. And lets not overlook IRA's and municipalities that invest in stocks and bonds All the anti-abortion groups better take a closer look at what is in their wallets and how it got there.
