4. The Possible SCOTUS Nominee the GOP FEAR the most: Tino Cuellar

The GOP’s Worst Nightmare SCOTUS Nominee
Tino Cuellar. California judge. Mexican-American. Harvard. Yale. Stanford. How many Latino votes you think the GOP’d get if they block him?

Here’s a name you need to get to know: Tino Cuellar. Who is Tino Cuellar? The potential Supreme Court nominee who could tie the Republican Party in the most Gordian knots of any of them, and who could thereby alter the presidential race dramatically as well.

Yes, yes; Barack Obama should choose the person best qualified for the job with whom he is most intellectually comfortable. But should that person be Mariano Florentino Cuellar, there could be plenty of benefits aside from having a brilliant, young, Latino person on the Court.

Cuellar, 43, is an associate justice on California’s State Supreme Court. He was born in Mexico. He is a naturalized U.S. citizen. He grew up on the border, and his family moved to California’s Imperial Valley when he was a teenager. He was smart and decided he wanted an education. He got one, all right. Get this resume: undergrad, Harvard; law school, Yale; master’s and doctoral degrees, Stanford.

All Republicans could say against him is that he doesn't have any court experience, but unless I'm mistaken neither did Clarence Thomas.

Heck, his wife might be a astute choice too.

On edit: "astute" might not a strong enough word, "brilliant" seems even better.

"consensus" appointee = continue with the current imbalance on the Court. What we need is a justice who isn't in the pocket of the Republican Party. Some of the Republicans are now calling for a "consensus" justice.

And by the way let the right wing republicans eat cake-----------------, we the progressive party are not going to play your game, we have had for over thirty years of this right wing "stuff" and this country is and will live the Ronald Reagan legacy for a long long time, because of Scalia and the other four members until we change it, and we are going to voice that change----------------the people.

... All these Republicans profess their undying devotion to the teachings of Christ, but they really love that Old Testament God with anger management issues. But in either case, when they do finally shuffle off this mortal coil, They will most assuredly be met with Saint Peter's stern countenance, and this admonition delivered in his best Desi Arnaz imitation, "You got some 'splainin' to do!"

So you conservatives, listen up. All your pious pontificating and sanctimonious condemnation of those who don't follow you in lockstep will NOT buy you a "GET OUT OF HELL FREE" card. You lie, entrap, frame, and murder innocent people, especially if they commit the unpardonable sin of being Black, along with despicable crimes too numerous to list here, and you think you won't have to answer for ANY of it?!!? Are you fucking kidding me?

Or are you just opportunistic liars with the moral compass of hyenas who have zero compunction about exploiting the fear and gullibility of the room-temperature IQs that define your beloved "Base," all so you can impose your perverted will on the rest of us?

I wonder who they think is stupid enough to buy this con. Their own constituents certainly don't care: no doubt many of them, like ex-governor Perry, don't even know that there is a Judicial Branch.

One upside is that if Cruz is busy filibustering he can run for office.

From what I have read, Obama has a window that is open until next week to make a recess appointment.

If true, he can cite the fact that the GOP has said they will refuse to allow this critical position to be filled, and based upon that stance by the GOP he will fill it now so as to not allow the SCOTUS to become as deadlocked as the Congress.

I read that and thought...YES!

Heads will explode.

Apologies to all if I have gotten this wrong. Feel free to belittle me.
