Zimmerman was playing the picture in his mind and his tongue went faster than his brain!
He is guilty as hell !!!
Edited to add:
And also watch how he moves his hands downward when talking about the hand on the nose - he gestures downward instead of bringing his hand up to his face to show how his nose was covered - most likely because it was his hand on Trayvon and not the other way around.

(57,936 posts)on the element of reasonable fear of death or serious bodily harm for purposes of the Florida Stand Your Ground law? That is a defense.
Burden of proof
Because an affirmative defense requires an assertion of facts beyond those claimed by the plaintiff, generally the party who offers an affirmative defense bears the burden of proof.[6] The standard of proof is typically lower than beyond a reasonable doubt. It can either be proved by clear and convincing evidence or by a preponderance of the evidence. In some cases or jurisdictions, however, the defense must only be asserted, and the prosecution has the burden to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defense is not applicable.[citation needed]

Under Florida law, which party bears the burden of proof on the Stand Your Ground defense, and what is the burden. Does the prosecutor have to show beyond a reasonable doubt that the defense does not apply? Or does Zimmerman have to show that his fear was reasonable? Or does Zimmerman have to meet a higher standard of proof than just reasonable doubt?
This will be peculiar to Florida law.
I'm guessing the prosecutor may have to prove that the defense does not apply beyond a reasonable doubt, but then the Florida law I believe says that the defendant's fear has to have been reasonable, something the defendant would need to show. Any experts available on this?
I would also like to say that there is a witness who might disagree with Zimmerman's story. She is the girl who was talking to Zimmerman on the phone in the moments before the shooting. I don't know whether she will be allowed to testify as to Trayvon's statements, but she can probably testify about anything she heard Zimmerman say. The prosecutor spoke to her.
Zimmerman's story of the encounter between Zimmerman and Trayvon is a bit hard to believe considering that Zimmerman followed Trayvon some distance from his truck prior to meeting Trayvon and killing him.

(37,573 posts)I do not see any bushes. I thought the story was that Trayvon was hiding in some bushes and then popped up and confronted Zimmerman. But since there are no bushes, it seems that Zimmerman would have been able to see Trayvon from a distance away before they could converse or before he got punched. So now this guy who had presumably been running away from you is now walking towards you. What do you do? You've got to be expecting trouble, so how do you respond to it?
in past statements Zimmerman said Trayvon attacked him from behind.
In the video Zimmerman indicated that he was facing him (from quite a few feet away) and that Trayvon approached him and punched him from the front.
Zimmerman is LYING.

Zimmerman has already lied in court so a jury may decide he's lying in this video too.
Especially since the story he first told had to be changed when he went to the scene.

(36,974 posts)Zimmerman actually did not say anything 'in court' yet.
It was his WIFE that lied via the telephone to the court about their finances.
But it was George Zimmerman that turned in the passport that was about to expire and didn't turn in the 'new' replacement passport that was NOT fixin' to expire.
Bottom line: they have both shown that they are not very honest and forthcoming.

(115,677 posts)It takes longer to get a new one if you claim the old one is lost than if you send in your old one. But you then have 2 passports. Of course the old one won't get you through passport checks, but for casual use, it works and has no holes in it.

(36,974 posts)then he turned in to the court the one he had said he had lost - that one expired or was fixing to expire very soon
the new one that he kept had a 2013 expiration date.
When the attorney found out he got the newer one from Zimmerman and turned that one into the court too.

Unless George is under the delusion that he is a teenager, he lied to a judge in court in his fancy suit at his bail hearing. OR he lied to the police.
But he told two different stories, in any event. He could not have believed that the teen was both a teen and a man nearing thirty.

(36,974 posts)All Zimmerman did at his bail hearing was read a statement TO the parents of Trayvon, and the part about 'the age' was in the statement to the 'parents' not to the judge, Right?
I know he did not testify regarding how much money he had, only his wife testified about the money.
So, was he even under oath when he read the statement to Trayvon's parents?
It's been a while and I can't remember every detail now.
MADem
(135,425 posts)They generally don't put you in the dock if you're not under oath.
It doesn't matter though--he's on video saying one thing to a judge, and on tape saying another thing to a dispatcher.
He has no problem lying to authority -- that is the take away.
