2. I don't know what it is like to exist in his mind, but let me try.

He thought Michelle's speech was good, nonetheless he felt compelled to correct her (it must have sucked to be a student in his class). So with all his research, or lack of, he came up with white dudes worked there too, and the slaves were well fed.

It's obvious he's so superior he needs no advice from his underlings who might suggest something like, "Boss, please don't do this." I don't know if he got prep advice for his interview with President Obama and ended up asking, "Why does everyone hate you?" And there was that need to take down the First Lady a few notches because he's so superior.

Come to think of it, it must be comforting to know you are superior to everyone, and if they disagree, yell like a baby.
