imo, It would be in the best interests of the US to promote "fair trade". It seems to me that TPP, either intentionally or unintentionally will hurt workers and suppress Union influence.

4. Keep in mind that prior to Reagan a typical factory worker could afford a house and a car,...

...and could even go on vacation, save to put their kids through college, buy life insurance and even buy a speedboat to go water skiing in the summer at the local lake.

These days the same job pays for a room in someone else's place and bus fare to get to work. Going to see a movie is a strain on the budget.
