I stepped on a bee on Venice Beach once, and it hurt like holy hell! Didn't know what it was at first....

It's reported to screw with their navigation abilities, causing them to wander. If they were skirting the coast for their nectar, they probably just got off course until they ran out of energy and crashed into the sea.

Sad. Very sad. They do their work for nothing and we're the benefactors...and we're their assassins.

I'll be starting an indoor greenhouse soon with the specific intent to grow nectar and food source plants for pollinators. My yard and those of my relatives are 100% pesticide and herbicide free. 4,000+ organic seeds all ready stratified and ready for germination. 1/4th of them are Echinacea - Coneflowers, which are not only wildly adored by both insects, they also have medicinal uses for us.
