Phillipines struggles to curb child labour

In the Philippines there is a renewed push to stamp out child labour where over millions of children eke out a living as workers, miners and farm hands instead of going to school. The International Labour Organisation has put that number at more than five million children are working in sometimes hazardous conditions. But the government says its new policies will be able to eliminate child labor by 2016. Al Jazeera's Jamela Alindogan has their story.

But we are trying to adopt a child from the Philippines and it sure is a lot of legal red tape. I mean a lot of legal red tape from both the United Staes government and the Philippines government. And it is frustrating. We will get the child and we will make sure she has a good life. But again, there sure is an awful lot of hassle to go through.
