(15,229 posts)notably, concerning a passenger having booked-in, in advance, and already in his seat, prohibits the forced removal of this passenger. He should should be able to sue them to beggary, apparently.
But of course, the Catch 22 is : Only in America.... The heaven on earth dedicated to the politico-corporate cyborg that can do no wrong, with the rights in law of the natural person, but none of the duties, still less, the restraints.
United should keep a car or small fleet of cars, for their driving their incompetent laggards. United's behaviour reminds me of nothing so much as the way in which the Normans (Vikings) treated the English, after they conquered the country in 1066.

(26,291 posts)to another flight on time so that hundreds of people would not be forced to miss their flights vs the handful that United had to remove from the flight and a fleet of cars wouldnt help due to the distances involved and the time it would take to transport the crew there.
That aside in the future to avoid having to remove people United simply needs to set aside 4 to 8 seats for United personal and only United personal.

relative numbers rationale for bumping the smaller number off the flight.
If the Milton Freedman's 'bottom line' were not God to the corporate world, your concluding suggestion would have been in force long ago. Perhaps it should mandated by law.
And if they whine about viability, cut their directors pay, which are, in any case, grossly inordinate acrioss the board. They have pillagd the American worker.
I laughed to hear the anchor-girl (what a soft, vulnerable face she has) say it had caused a national uproar (or some such word). How about INTERnational, sweet-pea ? I believe the thug was one of Guantanamo's finest. Any Abu Ghraibers, I wonder ? Imagine the character heading their Inhuman Resources Department ! I wonder if they ever rendition passengers. 'We can be nice... and we can be... not nice.... Surely, the police could find a position for him. Maybe training rookies, part-time, as well.
As for Munoz, 'It was just a bad moment'... yes, indeed, like Kristallnacht was 'a bad moment'. Just you remember, Oscar, your pappy or grandpappy might have been' one them *** itinerants come to pick our navels!', as a character in Aldous Huxley's After Many A Summer railed !
He talked about United Airlines being a family. I must say that's a nice, comforting image, Oscar. How about rebranding it, AdamsFamily Airlines ?

The issue at hand with the plane incident is actually about capitalism.
