them different colors as a little kid. They hold up quite well and we still have a few that hold pins, coins etc.and of course have sentimental value

(21,646 posts)6. Oh just kids non toxic paint . Hasn't cracked yet she is 17now so about 12years ago I remember it
was in preschool that a teacher taught her how to do that and the teacher said she really caught on and loved making them which was true she would make them at home on her own after she was shown how to fold
She used to make paper animals as well but they are long gone ...sigh

Besides paint, is there anything that one can use to keep the newsprint from getting on your fingers (I'm thinking transparent to retain the newspaper look)?
