The New York Times reports that Vice President Mike Pence and other Republicans appear to be eyeing a run for president in 2020. The Trump White House is pushing back, but Lawrence O'Donnell says it's obvious — and it's not just because of Mueller's Russia probe.

I've been pondering how this ends for Trump, and I can't see him bowing out gracefully "for the good of the Nation". He'll fight and claw to the bitter end. At some point it will become obvious that Pence will be installed, and when the likelihood of that disaster hits, we need to start hitting Pence HARD with "do you think treason is okay", etc. Don't let him weasel out of it--he's a sneaky professional pivoter, and the only way to make sure he doesn't get reelected is to marinade him in Trump taint. 6. it was obvious even before the election

Trump may resign to keep the perks as opposed to being fired via impeachement. But he is unlikely to dissapear; he is all set to launch larger than life media propaganda machine effectively helping pence outside white house. Handmaid's tale may become reality. Pence has no interest in democracy, his goal is the establishment of theocratic state. He would be much more effective than trump.

Do not for a nanosecond believe he is not interested in running. He will be acting president before 2020. We are one SC justice away from theocracy. Two will make the transition real quick. Kennedy and Ginsburg won't be there forever. Pence administration will stop at nothing to achieve this including outright voter fraud. They have the Justice Dept to protect them. SC has the ultimate power to overthrow democracy in the US.
