... Cannabis will almost certainly be legalized in Canada on July 1st, 2018 (Canada Day).

FYI: the Canadian Senate is essentially an anachronism. It’s highly unlikely they’ll actually do anything.

Also, the Federal Government has been co-ordinating this with the Provinces and Territories. Already many, if not most have their regulations set to go under the Federal Government’s legal guidelines. Quebec, for example, has opted (for now) to sell cannabis (and some related products) through their provincial liquor outlets.

My city (Victoria, BC) and its neighbouring municipalities are essentially finalizing their own retail by-laws, and licensing within the Federal Government’s framework.

There is already big money invested, from many different industries.

As with many other cities in Canada, we already have many medical marijuana stores, that are somewhat easy to purchase marijuana (and medical marijuana) from. It is a gray area legally.

However, the marijuana stores are pretty much trouble-free. All types of people purchase products there. And I do mean ALL.

All (adult) ages, genders, young and old, rich and poor. The prices are cheap, and the quality is high, with much of the product PROPERLY GRADED by people who appear to know a lot about the products, and the various levels of the compounds in them.

There is ZERO trace of ANY other “drug activity” around these stores. At least, not that I have seen. And that’s more than I can say for many liquor outlets!

Bring on July 1, 2018.

Please come up to Canada and celebrate with us on that day

So says this Canadian!
