(17,871 posts)The mainstream GOP has made it perfectly clear what they think of LBGTQ rights. The positions of the two major parties has never been more diametrically opposed.

(45,746 posts)not everyone cares about the same issues equally. Many of them figure Democrats will fight for their gay rights regardless so they might as well support what they think is good for business

(5,053 posts)they've already gotten more rights because of their money than anyone else. A lack of civil rights because of their sexual orientation doesn't really affect them.

(9,350 posts)I think they could have done a better job. They did not give an argument as to why people should vote against Roy Moore. Why should a good Christian vote against Roy Moore? What has he done that would make a good Christian vote against Roy Moore? How has Roy Moore done the things that are listed in this video? If I were an Evangelical Christian I doubt I would be moved by this video, especially since it comes from the Log Cabin Republicans (a group of gay Republicans). It would likely have the opposite affect on me. It would likely make me more likely to vote for Roy Moore because, in my view, it is gays and liberals who are actually doing the things that are listed in this video. This video would give more support to what Roy Moore has been saying: the liberals and the gays are angry at Moore's stances and they want to keep him out of office in order to push their agenda. The video would make me think it was the liberals and the gays who want to twist society, just as Roy Moore has been saying.
So, in the end I think this video will be completely ineffective. Not just because it was put out by the Log Cabin Republicans, but also because they did not make the case that Roy Moore is a threat to the things good Christians support.

The juxtaposition between people reading their bibles and all the young girls was excellent. Gives a pause for "christian" folk to think about their daughters. Yeah, yeah, I know I'm being optimistic.
