(26,620 posts)and so is Bernie.. Bernie is looking younger everytime I see him. The man is ageless.
surprised to see you say anything nice about Van Jones since he welcomes the great ideas and energy of Senator Sanders.
gyroscope
(1,443 posts)I think that more than anything answers Van Jones' question as to why young people are Bernie's biggest fans. His incredible energy, charisma, sincerity comes across every time he speaks. I think young people have a sixth sense about them that can detect a fraud from a mile away, and they don't sense that coming from Bernie.

(32,640 posts)Offensive to whom?
Why?
These are photos of real young people who support a leader who is a fraud.
gyroscope
(1,443 posts)but to them that is a positive trait not a negative one.
ehrnst
(32,640 posts)so long as that leader tells them what they want to hear?

(26,620 posts)so why do you post this on DU? Its offensive to me. Your point is that there are stupid kids in America. Laura Ingraham and the right wing say the same thing about the Parkland kids. Do you find that offensive or maybe you agree that all kids are dumb?

THAT POST was a response to your generalization that young people have the ability to see through a fraud.
(I'm assuming that you are replying to the wrong post, and are replying to my asking why you were offended by my post rebutting your claim about young people....)
I simply presented evidence that this was not universal among young people.
To claim that I was implying that "all kids are dumb" is an offensive strawman. I rebutted your generalization with some real examples, that didn't support your claim, and your reaction is outsized, to say the least.
To equate my post with the Right Wing lies and slander about the Parkland kids, and me with Laura Ingraham is what's offensive.
Is that clearer?

(26,620 posts)I see and hear it everyday. Dont like seeing and hearing it on. DU.

Really?
Namecalling should be beneath you.
I rebutted what was presented as "evidence" that kids see through frauds, and you go overboard.
That's a hallmark of right wing reactions.
Gyroscope was the one making that claim - and I just asked for clarification of their meaning. You really need to be less reactionary. And you need to learn to keep your threads straight.
Here it is, in case you missed it while furiously typing at me.

(32,640 posts)Because you seem confused on who said what.
You blew up at my asking for clarification on what Gyroscope said.
Why don't you go back and read what this thread actually says? You may want to apologize.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for being confused.

(67,782 posts)....refer to people with lower intelligence as "dumb". Many find that offensive.

(26,620 posts)Glad we have an ignore feature. Plenty of real issues, several discussed in this interview. I dont believe posting pro trumpers and beaming Paul Ryan pictures are an honest response to this discussion... equating Democratic youth with trumpers? Thats all Im saying.
ehrnst
(32,640 posts)Evidence of support for Trump by youth?
Or anything that challenges a generalization that you agree with? Do you also have such issues with Trump being talked about on DU as though he is president? Photos or memes of him in the Oval office?
You are the only one here who is "equating Trump youth with Democratic voters."
Perhaps you would be wise to use the ignore feature if you have such strong emotional reactions to someone pointing out that a generalization that isn't supported by evidence.
You might have to use it on a lot of people, if disagreement upsets you so much.
gyroscope
(1,443 posts)I guess to ernhst that makes Obama a fraud.
not sure what he has against young voters, but this guy is a Troll with a capital T.
gotta love the ignore feature.

(32,640 posts)And not doing so, an indication of not listening, and refusing to accept new data that doesn't confirm one's own bias.
Thank you.
KPN
(15,644 posts)viewpoint is not necessarily an outcome of listening/taking in new data, but it can be. "Can be" doesn't make the second "must be".
That aside, the second doesn't fit Bernie in my view, though I can see how Bernie haters might think so. Confirmation bias.
ehrnst
(32,640 posts)And criticism of Sanders does not equal "hatred."
My gramatical construction avoided a split infinitive - the "can be" is part of the second part of the statement.
Is that clearer?
You are applying my statements to Sanders, and had an emotional response.
An emotional response to any critique of Sanders is more indicative of an emotional, rather than logical assesment of the person doing the critiquing - which is rooted in confirmation bias.
KPN
(15,644 posts)And criticism of Bernie at the levels and frequency it happens here at DU, including condemning Bernie whenever there is even the slightest possible nexus between him and just about anybody or anything (which is absolutely what happens here) is the very definition of hate. It is entirely lacking in any real world basis, i.e., it's based entirely on bias and a bias-based grudge. GET OVER IT.
ehrnst
(32,640 posts)I said nothing about "Bernie ignoring something due to confirmation bias."
Your anger should be directed at the person making those comments.
If you need to rant at someone who "hates Bernie" please find someone who does.
If even implied criticism of Bernie gets you this emotional, I suggest you employ the ignore feature. You will need to do this on a huge number of members here at DU.
I suggest you get started.
KPN
(15,644 posts)So ridiculous at times here.
ehrnst
(32,640 posts)Ridiculous strawman at the very least.
Doubling down doesn't give one credibility.

Being accused by you of "playing games here" puts me in the company of a rapidly expanding number of DU posters who happen to be fond of facts.
