compare the full population totals w/ the actual crime stats, the numbers are misleading. St. Louis City and St. Louis county are two huge metro areas by themselves, w/ over 100 different cities in St. Louis County alone.

I guarantee you that the video harping about St. Louis crime is nothing like it in the real world.

This is a often repeated mistake, and is caused by a numbers game...

..... sometime around the turn of the 19th century, st. Louis City "seceded" from St. Louis County and is locked into its borders as they existed at that time and with no financial cost or revenue sharing with the county. As the area grows and expands the city proper empties and decays.

I do think he used the word ghetto. It was a month or 2 after he pointed out "my African American" at a campaign rally.

He just did all of this to make sure there was no rebellion against him in these communities.

that's how we're viewed in much of the world and in much of our own this country. Thanks to our love of lassez faire capitalism, we're a mix of the very best of the first world and parts that rival the squaller of third world slums. We're far more like Brazil than our fully industrialized counterparts...Canada, western Europe, Japan, South Korea, Australia...
