Related: About this forumLoudon Wainwright III song: Newt Gingrich is Running For Prez
Just discovered this. I believe Loudo has updated a version of this song that he wrote when Gingrich was speaker, called "Newt Gingrich is Running the Town," which appears in his new box set.
Loudo is the best. Pity I couldn't share this before the holidays, as it is (sort of) set to the tune of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," but I hope you enjoy it anyway.

He's always been a musician as far as I know. He's a truly great songwriter whose songs are sometimes funny, sometimes poignant.
Yes, he had a hit with "Dead Skunk" in '73 and was on M*A*S*H. He was also the priest in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, the gynecologist in Knocked Up (for which he also wrote the music), and was on Judd Apatow's TV show, Undeclared.
I've been a fan since I first saw him on David Letterman's morning show in the summer of 1980.
Oh, and his father was a well-known columnist & editor at LIFE Magazine.

The teenage comedian I was recalling was apparently London Lee, who apparently was 29 at the time he was a "teenage" comedian.
