....get into the panel's commentary and then the bald guy said something to the effect that the second Iraq War was NOT based on lies, which of course is a complete and utter fabrication. Bush*, Cheney*, Powell*, Rice*, Rumsfeld* all KNEW that Iraq HAD NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. They knew!

We learned from the British that the Americans "...planned to gin-up the evidence" in order to justify invading Iraq. We now know that Saddam Hussein - through private channels - basically BEGGED the United States not to invade, promising all kinds of concessions, however the PNAC was going to have their war, legal or not.

and, for the record, I think Steve Schmidt did the best he could with a doomed-to-fail campaign (McCain/Palin), and has done so with as much honor and integrity as could possibly be expected from a life-long, otherwise fairly smart Republican political operative. But in this instance, he COMPLETELY deserved to have his metaphorical head hit with a ball-bat. Thanks Rachel, you're a treasure, and we love watching you work.=)

Curveball
The fact that we were bombing Iraq many months before shock and awe.
The fact that Blix and Ritter did find weapons and said so
The fact that Rumsfeld insisted that he knew where the weapons were ... and they weren't
The Downing Street memos
The fact that Iraq was already the most defeated country in the world, with no-fly zones, surveillance on the ground and in the air.
The absurdity of mobile biological weapons labs
The fact that Iraq couldn't launch a model airplane without being detected
----------
No investigation of 911: it would distract from hunting the killers
Nobody could ever have imagined flying airliners into buildings (see exercises on 911)
My Pet goat
-----------
Guilt is not to be debated but rather determined under the law. Bush 43 should be indicted.
