(488 posts)He wants a military parade. He wants Nukes and Scuds and Tanks and (I think he has called them, WWII) Halftracks. The whole Air Force flying overhead. What if it costs $1 trillion? He hopes it does.

(12,586 posts)The logistics would be horrible, plus the fact that the funds and time would come from the training budget.
For something we're always doing.
Breaking: Trump just signed an EO stating that from now on the sun will rise in the east and set in the west. "It'll become a tradition," he said proudly.

(4,291 posts)And I'm sure he's seen the parade video clips from North Korea. I'll bet you half a peach he's going to ask not-so-Little Kim about them when they meet again.
Hell, Individual-1 will probably invite Kim, Putin, Duterte and other despots to join him in the VIP section. (I'm guessing the kid from the SOTU speech won't be invited back to DC).

(8,820 posts)He can't get his own crowds, (think inauguration) so he narcissistically manipulates situations to steal some other crowd so he can tell everyone they are coming to support him and are all there to worship him!!!!!! LOL

(28,347 posts)Take over an existing tradition that historically attracts huge crowds. Doctor it up so it'll be good and gaudy.
Then call it his very own. He'll take full credit, and bask in his (its) glory.
I can almost envision what he wants, though my mind doesn't want to go there, and quite frankly, my mind probably couldn't go as far as his warped sense of entitlement could go.
Since he can't craft a positive legacy of any sort, he'll appropriate one. It's easier than earning it.
It's surprising he hasn't attached his name to a college bowl game. Then again, that might require solid assets rather than a huge pile of steaming debt.
The Trump Orange Bowl. Ha.

(28,347 posts)Taking away that foundation has put a halt to his looking like the wonderfully giving big-spending, big-shot he has always pretended to be.
So sad, believe me.

(11,563 posts)... he might want one in the winter, as well. I hear a lot of people get all worked up about having another special day in December. Some even talk about going to "war" over it.What a nice way to bookend Spring and Autumn!
He could call it Donaldvas, although I suppose other names are possible.

(28,120 posts)I'd bet he doesn't remember birthdays, other than his own. Probably can't even remember all his grandchildren's names either. And when naming his children, bet he forgets to mention Tiffany.

(36,793 posts)Trump does not want to salute the military.
He wants the world to see the military salute him.
Will it be awkward when he refuses POWs a place in his parade?
After all, Donald does not like soldiers who were captured.
Submariner
(12,504 posts)and start mocking him. Make fun of him to the point he cringes. Our presidential hopefuls need to read this back to the crowds at their rallies every night, that are shown on TV very night. Make him seem the insane president he is. It's all stupid talk so let's use it against him.
Make fun of the taped mouth comments and non-existent prayer rugs at the border. Why doesn't the chickenshit press not call him on his BS from a movie script?

"The media is really, the word, one of the greatest of all terms I've come up with, is 'fake,'" Trump said. "I guess other people have used it perhaps over the years, but I've never noticed it."
