5. I had this interesting image in my head while watching these men condemn Trump

and his supporters in Congress: I pictured them speaking in a dimly lit court room, wearing the robes and wigs of proper prosecutors, reciting the list of crimes involved in Individual-1's treason-spree. The audience is hushed. As Mr. Rankin finishes his remarks, the judge, seated high on the bench, his robes red, his wig longer and more imposing, declares:

"This court does adjudge that [you]...as tyrant, traitor, murderer, and public enemy to the good people of this nation, shall be put to death by the severing of your head from your body."

(A little liberty with the exact quote of Judge Bradshawe there, but basically that is what he said to Charles I, a monarch who, among other things, ran afoul of the law by attempting to place himself above it. He reacted quite poorly to the judge's sentence and was dead within a few days. Our laws do not countenance beheadings and more's the pity, especially after these most eloquent recitations by these Representatives of the People of Individual-1's high crimes and felonies.)
